Roads around Swinley Forest remain closed despite heavy rain

Police checking area, driving along Forester's Way
-
Miles of hosepipe remain to be collected
Police say the roads are unlikely to open before Monday afternoon at the earliest, and are also still restricting access to the Forest, turning walkers and cyclists away.
A lot of fire equipment remains throughout the Forest including miles of hosepipe that will need to be collected. This is likely to take several days to tidy up so we can probably expect continued disruption in the area for most of this week.

Can see why they had to close the roads - you can see the devastation caused and it is so close to the road on the Bracknell Road (B3348) out of Crowthorne. There is still a lot of work going on....electricity vans by Crowthorne wood and wood chipper/log shredding equipment being used to get rid of trees that have had to be felled near the road...

ReportJust driven from Crowthorne to Ascot and can confirm all roads are open except section of Forresters Way from the Bracknell Road (B3348) roundabout to the Magadalane Road roundabout. Traffic was a bit slow from Little Sandhurst through to the top of Crowthorne, but was fine from there onwards all the way to Ascot. The main areas of burnt forest seem to East of the Bracknell Road in the Broadmoor Woods area, and also in the southwest of Swinley Forest bordering Nine Mile Ride and the Forresters Way. The Lookout end looked fine from the road.
