Camberley Churches Together (CCT), who brought Street Angels to our town, are also backing this initiative. Rev Mark Chester, former chairman of CCT, said “I am really delighted to see another Camberley Churches Together initiative such as this”.
Chris Higgins, the co-ordinator of Healing on the Streets in Camberley, said “We believe that God can heal people of any sickness or disease. We provide a small area of peace, out on the pavement in the town centre, where people can come and get prayer for their healing. It’s completely free, there are no strings attached. It is a simple model of how we can show the love of God, to people in our town, irrespective of their background, race, gender, sexuality or creed.”
Healing on the Streets was pioneered by the Causeway Vineyard Church in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, but has now spread across the UK with groups in towns all around the country. This includes Reading, Andover, Winchester and Woking.
Camberley Healing on the Streets in Camberley, comprises of 18 people from local churches, who have undergone training over the last few months. Why not try them out on Saturday? Nothing to loose ;)
