development by Camberley Town Football Club. The football club started a
consultation process about their plans to expand and build a new pitch and club
house on land that is currently part of Crabtree Park
back in July and since then opposition has grown.
At a recent public meeting approximately 130 people turned
out to voice their objections to the plans and a group, The Friends of Crabtree
Park has been formed to fight the planned development that will reduce the park
space for the general public. Stephen
Casey, the chairman of The Friends of Crabtree Park will be interviewed for the
BBC report and would like to see as many people as possible out in support of
the park. So if you feel that too much
of our open space is under threat from developers, please come along to Crabtree Park tomorrow at 12.15pm and show your
support. Bring your friends, family and
pets and come and enjoy the park. The BBC hopes to show the report on South
Today on the afternoon and/or evening South Today programme.
The Friends of Crabtree Park is a group formed by and for
the users of Crabtree Park and local residents and is dedicated to “the
protection, preservation and maintenance of Crabtree Park
as an informal green space and place of natural beauty for the use and benefit
of the whole community.”

ReportWith regards to dog poo, the other council football pitches in the borough don't have poo picked up by anyone. It's always down to the people who are about to play on the pitch to do a quick "poo walk". I don't suppose these pitches will be any different.
