Deepcut Barracks Development – only a week left to put your views forward to the Council

The Deepcut Barracks are due to close in 2013 and the land

has been released for housing development.

The proposal is to build 1200 new homes and there are fears that the

current infrastructure will not be able to cope.  What do you think?  Will the roads be able to cope with more

traffic?  Will there be too much pressure

on school places?  Can our services cope

with more development?

Surrey Heath has been consulting on its Core Strategy &

Development Management Policy (Pre-Submission) Document since the beginning of

August and there is only a week left before the consultation closes.  The Deepcut Liaison Group have put together a

document outlining the issues - if you have not already seen it click

here.  They have also prepared a letter

to send to the council if you are against the proposed development.

If you feel strongly about this – ACT NOW!  The deadline is Friday 24th

September!
