Update - main gas pipe replacement programme on the Portsmouth Road

Southern Gas Networks have decided to postpone the start of work on the main gas pipe replacement in Portsmouth Road until after 9am on Thursday.

The work, which will stretch from the Frimley Waitrose roundabout to the hospital roundabout for a period of seven to nine weeks, had been due to start today (Tuesday).

Some SGN staff may be on site on Wednesday carrying out preparatory work but traffic management will not be started until Thursday.

After this time, traffic will be managed by two-way traffic lights. Daily working hours on this project will be from 7.30am to 4pm. However the traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day.
