Are there any Playday events being organised in Camberley?  The nearest ones I can find are in Bracknell.  There are two events one at Wooden Hill Pavillion on Great Hollands Rec that includes rock climbing, bouncy castles and a petting zoo and one at the John Nike Leisuresport Complex that will include activities such as ice Olympics, woodland adventures as well as ice skating, sno-tubing and skiing.

Playday is in its 25th year and is a celebration of children's right to play. Playday highlights the importance of play in the lives of our children.

Playday was launched in 1986 in London when there were rumours of cuts to school based play centres and adventure playgrounds in the capital.  In reponse a group of playworkers came up with the idea of raising the awareness of the importance of play by having a Playday!  It also served the purpose of highlighting the proposed loss of children's play services.

Playday went national in 1991 and is now the biggest celebration of children's play in the UK, if not Europe.  Last year in the UK there were more than 850 events.  It would be lovely to know whether anyone in Camberley is celebrating Playday this year.
