Portesbery and Carwanden schools closed as Camberley prepares for snow

TWO schools in Camberley have closed today as the region braces itself for snow.

Portesbery School and Carwanden School in Camberley have closed due to snow.
Portesbery School, in Portesberry Road, and Carwanden House Community School, in Chobham Road, are both shut today (Friday, January 18) due to forecast adverse weather conditions.

Forecasters are saying some 5-10cm of snow is expected to fall in the area today, with snowfall mostly light to moderate, with some heavy snow showers.
There could be more snowfall in hilly areas and a chance of drifting.
Surrey County Council has said its fleet of gritters have been out in force treating the regions major roads.
Commuters are also advised of changes to services with South West Trains cancelling its Ascot to Ash Vale route.
