PARENTS and children have been told to be vigilant after a stranger offered a Bagshot schoolboy a ride in his car.
The 13-year-old was making his way to school at around 8am on Tuesday (November 6) when he was approached by a man in a dark blue estate car on Lambourne Drive. The passenger window of the car was wound down and the driver offered the schoolboy a lift.
The youngster refused the offer and continued on his way towards the A30. The motorist drove off in the same direction.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged around 60-years-old, of an average build and with short grey hair. The car is described as being a dark blue diesel saloon similar to a VW Passat or a Ford Mondeo.
Surrey Heath Borough Commander Detective Inspector Martin Goodwin said: "The teenage pedestrian did exactly the correct thing when this suspicious incident happened; he refused the offer of a lift or to make any attempt to engage in conversation with the unknown man."
