Police and crime commissioner election: Surrey Heath turnout figures announced

FEWER than one in ten voters in Surrey Heath have attended poll stations for the county's police and crime commissioner election.

Turnout figures for the district show there was a 14.25 per cent turnout with 9.6 per cent of potential voters casting a vote at polling booths.

Fewer than half of all postal votes were returned.

The turnout figures were echoed throughout the county where, overall, 9.91 per cent of voters attended polling stations and 47.11 per cent returned postal votes.
