Surrey Heath Borough Council is this year entering a garden for the show led by Kate Turner the gardener at Flourish Community Garden at the award winning Frimley Lodge Park. Assisting her is a dedicated team of volunteers made up of the Military Wives of Deepcut.
The garden project entitled "A Moveable Feast" was developed with the army wives after they attended workshops Kate ran at Flourish.
Their design and ideas were accepted by judges at the flower show on March 1 and the team are now busy preapring for the event in July.
Kate said: "The feel of the garden is lively and bright with lots of colour to help combat the feeling of sadness many of the ladies feel whilst their husbands are away.
"The idea of a feast is to encourage the idea of a community eating with each other, a celebration and the feeling that we are all in it together and that good healthy food grown by ourselves can be a great healer".
The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show runs from July 9-14 and tickets are on sale now. You can follow the progress of the garden from design, to growing, building and showcasing online by viewing photo's, watching videos and reading blogs here.
