IMPROVEMENTS to multi-storey car parks in Camberley town centre have been approved.

Main Square multi-storey car park is to be refurbished.
Main Square and Knoll Road car parks will be refurbished following a decision by Surrey Heath Borough Council's Executive committee this week.
The improvements will include replacing the existing Pay on Foot (PoF) equipment with a new system as well as new CCTV, new signage and changes to some of the car park ramps from early 2013.
The work is expected to cost £213,000 but the new modern car park system will reduce running costs and is expected to generate savings of over £80,000 a year.
New security shutters and CCTV in the car parks will aim to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.
Some car park levels will be able to be closed at night.
Cllr Craig Fennell, portfolio holder for business, said: "These new improvements to our car parks are further evidence of the council's desire to enhance Camberley town centre for its residents and visitors. The current system can be unreliable and these new customer friendly improvements will mean fewer queues and deliver an improved operation. Both car parks will remain open during the improvement works."
