4th Surrey Heath Annual Sports Awards - Nominations Open Until 31st August!

This year the 4th Surrey Heath Sports Awards will be taking place on Sunday 23rd October at Camberley Theatre.  Nominations are now open and can be made online until 31st August 2011.  The Awards recognise and honour local sportspeople, teams, clubs, coaches and volunteers and promote their commitment and achievement in sport.  The nominees must be either a resident, attend a school or be a member of a sports club in Surrey Heath.

There are 9 Award Categories:

• Young Sports Personality of the Year
• Young Sports Team of the Year
• Young Volunteer of the Year
• Sports Personality of the Year
• Sports Team of the Year
• Sports Club of the Year
• Coach of the Year
• Outstanding Service to Sport
• Disability Sports Award

The winners will receive trophies and an automatic nomination for the Surrey Sports Awards to be held on Friday 25th November at G-Live in Guildford.

Last year seven of the winners were shortlisted at the Surrey Sports Awards and five went on to win their categories:  Georgia Peel (Young Sports Personality of the Year),  Curley Park Rangers FC (Sports Club of the Year), Jon Escott (Coach of the Year), Matthew Hall (Disability Sports Award) and Patricia Balcombe (Volunteer of the Year).
